ED. 26·05 / 2026

Most weeks we work across Torrevieja, La Zenia and Orihuela Costa. Most calls don't need building work — they need an honest diagnosis, a specific replacement, and a safe finish. What we sell is the technical honesty: we tell you what can be repaired and what truly needs replacing, with a fixed price before anyone lifts a screwdriver.

  • 04Pre-2003 consumer unit with no super-immunised RCD

Areas we cover every week

Daily coverage across the south Costa Blanca. If your urbanisation isn't listed, ask — it's almost certainly 10 minutes from somewhere we already work.

I

New installations and consumer-unit upgrades

An honest rewire starts with one question: what are you actually going to use it for? A villa with aerothermal heating, induction and ducted air needs different cable sections, a different consumer unit and a different protection scheme than an inherited property used a few weeks a year.

We work to RBT 842/2002 and ITC-BT: dedicated circuit for the kitchen (C3, 6 mm²), bathroom (C5, 2.5 mm² with its own RCD), aircon (C9), 2.5 mm² for general sockets, 1.5 mm² for lighting. New consumer unit with a super-immunised RCD per critical line, MCBs per circuit, and a Type 2 surge protector — cheap to fit, saves your electronics every September storm season.

II

Common faults and what's actually causing them

An RCD that trips at 3am is usually the water heater or fridge developing an insulation leak. A breaker that trips when you turn the aircon on is either an overload or cable section that was undersized in the first place. A socket that gets warm is internal contact failure — the mechanism needs replacing, not just tightening.

In holiday properties around Orihuela Costa and La Zenia, coastal humidity and salt attack outdoor boxes, mechanisms and poorly sealed consumer-unit covers. A pre-season inspection costs less than the call-out when the property is full in August.

III

Emergency electrician in Torrevieja

About 70% of the emergency calls we get are the same handful of faults: RCD that won't stay up, part of the property dead, or a socket with a burning smell. The underlying cause is almost always earth leakage, damp in a bathroom or kitchen circuit, or a piece of equipment with damaged insulation.

If you need emergency electrician services in Torrevieja, we'll guide you over WhatsApp in the first minutes (which breaker to drop, what to unplug) and head to you. For planned work in town, see also electrician in Torrevieja.

Before you do anything: if you can smell burning, see sparks or smoke, drop the main switch and step away from the consumer unit. Don't keep trying to reset an RCD that immediately trips again — that trip is the protection doing its job.

Questions people ask us every week

  • Q.01My RCD trips and won't reset — what do I do?
Switch off every MCB (the small breakers), reset the RCD, then turn the MCBs back on one at a time. The one that makes the RCD trip again is your faulty circuit — leave it off and message us on WhatsApp. That's the fast way to isolate the problem without risk.
  • Q.02Why does a socket I never use smell of burning?
Almost always a worn internal contact (humidity, age, loose terminal). It's not a tighten-and-forget fix — the mechanism needs replacing and the circuit's connections should be checked. One of the few faults that genuinely needs same-day attention.
  • Q.03Do you issue boletín eléctrico (CIE) in Torrevieja?
Yes. We file the boletín CIE for new supply connections, second residences, inherited properties, renovations and power upgrades. Typical turnaround 48–72 hours after inspection and any required upgrade. Filed with Industria and Iberdrola / i-DE.
  • Q.04Do you cover La Zenia and Orihuela Costa?
Yes, two of our regular areas. We cover Cabo Roig, Campoamor, Punta Prima, Las Filipinas, Aguamarina and Mil Palmeras alongside La Zenia itself. Typical ETA 45–90 minutes depending on time of day.
  • Q.05Are you actually English-speaking, or just Google Translate?
Fully bilingual. WhatsApp messages, emails and on-site explanations in clear English. We also handle all the Spanish paperwork with Iberdrola / i-DE on your behalf — most of our customers in Cabo Roig, Villamartín and Las Ramblas don't speak Spanish.
  • Q.06Do you cover 24/7 emergencies across Torrevieja?
Yes. 24/7 every day of the year across Torrevieja and the south Costa Blanca. Typical arrival: 30–60 minutes in Torrevieja centre, La Mata and Acequión; 45–90 minutes in La Zenia, Orihuela Costa and Punta Prima.
  • Q.07How much does an emergency call-out cost on a Sunday or bank holiday?
Depends on the job, but we give you a fixed price over WhatsApp before we leave. There's a transparent call-out + diagnosis fee, then the materials and labour are quoted in writing before we start. No opaque holiday surcharges.
  • Q.08Do you give a written quote before starting?
Always. Fixed quote in writing (PDF or WhatsApp) with materials, labour and timeline. We only start once you've approved it. For emergencies, we confirm the figure on WhatsApp before we leave.
  • Q.09Is replacing the consumer unit really worth it on an older property?
In 90% of cases, yes. Older units usually have one RCD for the whole property (when it trips you lose everything), no surge protection, and undersized MCBs for modern appliances. You make it back in safety, comfort and electronics that last.
  • Q.10What information helps you respond faster?
WhatsApp: full address (street + urbanisation), a photo of the open consumer unit, which circuit's playing up, and how long for. With that we know what to bring and roughly how long it'll take.
  • Q.11Do you work with home insurance claims?
Yes. We issue invoices and technical reports for Mapfre, Línea Directa, Mutua Madrileña and other insurers. If your fault is covered, we'll give you the paperwork your insurer needs.
  • Q.12Do you handle community-of-owners maintenance?
Yes. Electrical maintenance for communities in Torrevieja, Villamartín, La Zenia and Orihuela Costa: common areas, garage and lobby lighting, pumps, lifts (electrical side) and admin inspections.
  • Q.13How do I prevent faults in a holiday property?
Annual consumer unit check, RCD test button every 3 months (every visit if the property is empty), outdoor and bathroom socket inspection, and a Type 2 surge protector to defend the fridge and electronics during the September thunderstorm season.
